It is a combination that never seems to disappoint anyone who is in love with milkshakes especially children of all age groups. Quick and easy strawberry milkshake with chia seeds is a favourite in my home and is had well before our last meal of the day.
It is prepared and cooled in the refrigerator and devoured at the right temperature. This simple drink will give you a super refreshed feeling and also uplift your energies just when it is going down in the evening hours after work.
Milkshakes are the first things my kids learnt to make in the kitchen when they needed a rush of energy while they were studying. Yes, they are super easy to make as just two ingredients are needed to make it with a hand blender. But elders need to be there if kids making it on their own because of the hand blender. So, caution there!
Try this simple recipe and have it together as a family after work hours on those warm evenings in summer.
Serves : 3ppl
Time : 15 mins
25 no medium sized strawberry
1.5 litre of milk
2 tbsp white sugar
2 tsps chia seeds
Wash and clean all the strawberries with salt water so as to remove all the impurities which are in abundance on fruits.
Chop the head off of all the strawberry and throw them away. Chop the remaining strawberries and put them in a vessel leaving a few chopped ones for garnishing
Add the milk, sugar and blend them with a hand blender.
Pour them in glasses and refrigerate for about 20 mins
Just before serving add the chopped strawberry pieces and chia seeds.
I have added sugar because the strawberries were not that sweet. You can completely miss that ingredient and it will taste immensely good nevertheless.
You can add chia seeds, mix them well in the milk and the refrigerate. Soaked seeds are good that way. I like the crunchiness and hence have added them just before devouring it.
Many people love having milk shakes after their food. But i feel it is very heavy with any kind of meal. So try having it at least 2 hours before or after meals.
